Pianist and conductor Andras Schiff is one of the many classical figures to be honoured in the 2014 Queen's Birthday Honours, leading the way with a knighthood for services to music. Fellow musicians, including John Berry, Artistic Director of English National Opera, and soprano Susan Bullock are to be awarded a CBE, while Janis Susskind and Victoria Sharp will receive OBEs.
Among those to be awarded an MBE are classical artist managers Martin Campbell-White and Robert Rattray, Marion Friend from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, Martin Binks, conductor of Leeds Symphony Orchestra, and Andrew Penny, conductor of Hull Philharmonic Orchestra.
